The Homes zone will enable your pupils to think differently about the machines, processes and products in our daily lives, including:

• What do we use it for?
• What’s inside?
• How does it work?
• How could we do things differently?

The Homes gallery features 7 themed areas:

1. Garden and Hall
   A giant cat welcomes your pupils to a large interactive cityscape and opportunities to look at how small actions can help us to care for the environment. Listen to local stories of favourite shoes and watch the journey of young people as they take sustainable journeys across Wirral.
2. Living Room
   Pupils can explore behind the walls, floor and ceiling and play a fun game where they take actions to manage systems sustainably in the home. They can also consider how being with family and friends can increase our wellbeing and challenge the reflexes of a cat!
3. Better Built
   Designing a staircase involves many people thinking about different needs and uses. In this fun AV game, your pupils will be challenged to design and build a staircase – but can they avoid the hazards!
4. Bedroom
   Our bedroom is a place for relaxation and being ourselves and where we can express our personality. Your pupils can also investigate sustainable choices with clothing and why sleep and rest are important for our wellbeing.
5. Bathroom
   By understanding how things work, we can fix them or avoid creating problems. Your pupils can investigate what happens when we flush the toilet, the impact of good choices and even take part in soapy karaoke!
6. Bathroom Cabinet
   Your pupils can investigate the science and technology of making toothpaste and design their own for different consumers. The cabinet also includes engaging information about personal hygiene and a giant mouth to explore.
7. Looking Inside
   In the Kitchen, supersized interactive appliances will encourage your pupils to consider what they do, how they work and how we can create new ways of doing things. They can boil a kettle, make tea and toast and look at the chemistry of cooking.

The Nature zone will enable your pupils to understand how Nature plays a vital role in our lives through understanding:

• that we can be inspired by nature
• that we can enjoy and benefit from nature
• that we can harness the power of nature

The Nature zone features 6 themed areas:

1. Energy for Life
   A huge sun starts the journey for pupils to understand the source of all life. They can investigate the beauty of growing plants, a butterfly life-cycle zoetrope and work out who eats who.
2. Habitats
   A large, sculpted hedge focusing on local habitats and the animals, birds and insects which live there. Investigate camouflage, adaptation and solve the clues in the poos!
3. Giant Nest
   An immersive environment where pupils can relax whilst they experience the beautiful sights and sounds of different habitats at different times of day and through different seasons.
4. Climbing Tree
   An energetic climbing experience to understand that nature has a positive impact on our mind and body. Pupils can also measure their pulse on the heartbeat trees.
5. Amazing Inventions
   Pupils can investigate how inspiring nature is to scientists and engineers, including an opportunity to design their own invention. They can also discover why bees are so essential to our lives.
6. The Power of Nature
   Pupils can explore tidal, solar and wind energy through interactive challenges and reflect on their own positive sustainable actions.

The Burrow tells the stories of Nature and the species who live in our locality – on land and offshore – and the people who work in these environments.

All the exhibits are playful and interactive and encourage children to be curious, creative, imaginative, and even brave as they climb, crawl and slide. There are lots of surprises to discover and characters to make friends with.

The Burrow features 7 themed areas:

1. Activity Wall
   Children can explore a huge interative wall illustration of a parkland leading to the coast and discover the different animals, birds and insects who live in these habitats.
2. Crawlers Nest (The Beach)
   A multi-sensory space for our youngest early years children where they can explore, climb and investigate in a space all to themselves.  Discover the Coot’s egg and textured models of seashore animals.
3. Field Mouse Nest
   A large wow structure where children can climb, investigate, and slide. Can they spot the field mouse and the tasty snack it has eaten?
4. Nature Walk
   Underneath the Field Mouse Nest children can weave in and out of the tall grass stalks to discover what’s between them including the sensory flower and buzzing bee.
5. Potting Shed
   Children can role-play as gardeners as they pot plants and investigate a range of sensory props on the light table. They can read and listen to engaging stories, play with fun resources and dress up.
6. Woodland Walk
   Children can explore the woodland walk to discover a range of interactive and engaging experiences, including creating their own butterflies and investigating a river projection.  They can spot the animals and birds in the tree trunks and listen out for the sound of the cuckoo.
7. River Mersey Construction
   Playful building and construction opportunities with huge blue shapes.
